Many Americans report that their employer has made progress in 2020 on workplace diversity, inclusion, and racism, according to a survey recently conducted by Reputation Leaders.

Here are some of the key findings from the graph: Respect and admiration for frontline workers increased significantly in April 2020. This includes healthcare workers, grocery store workers, delivery drivers, postal workers, and metro/bus/train/ferry workers. Respect for other essential workers also increased, but to a lesser extent. This includes local restaurant workers, local business employees, and charity/religious organization workers. Respect and admiration for some groups remained mostly unchanged, including family/friends, community, and international organizations. Respect and admiration actually decreased for some groups, including health insurance providers, ride-sharing drivers (Uber, Lyft, taxi drivers), media and journalists, employers, federal government, national government, banks, and big businesses. This data was collected by Reputation Leaders Ltd. in April 2020, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States. As such, it likely reflects the public’s growing appreciation for the essential workers who were keeping the country running during a crisis.
